Mr. A. V. Suryanarayana (62), a retired BHPV employee, narrates a few of his experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in his own words.

'My wife, Mrs, Dhanalakshmi, has been a devotee of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. In 1993-94, I took Ayyappa-deeksha and came to Prasanthi Nilayam in the course of our pilgrimage to Sabarimala. When I was in the darshan line, I prayed to Bhagavan 'Swami! I have not asked for any boon from any God so far. Now I am asking you one, I don't know why. My grand daughter, Ms, Santosh Rupa (4) is not able to talk. If she becomes dumb, her marriage will be a great problem. Pray bless her with the ability to talk'. As I was praying thus, Bhagavan came and stood a little away from me.

One devotee brought a tray of chocolates. Swami picked up a handful and threw them around. One fell in my lap. I thought, 'why Swami is throwing prasad like this around?' Traditionally we attach much sanctity to prasad. I felt that it was not proper for Bhagavan to throw it around. However, I carefully packed the chocolate and gave it to my grand daughter after my return completing Sabarimala yathra. Within a few weeks, she began to talk little words like Atta (Aunty), Tata (Grandfather), Amma (Mother), and developed gradually the ability to talk normally. That made me think of my trip to Prasanthi Nilayam. I thought that what little we know could not gauge the inscrutable ways of the Divinity. I became a devotee.

In 1999-2000, I came again to Prasanthi Nilayam. I used to suffer from back pain. I took medicines, but they were of only temporary relief. I used to get chest pain at least twice or thrice a week. After my visit to Prasanthi Nilayam, miraculously I was rid of the ailment completely.'
