Mrs. P. Bhagyalakshmamma (75) is presently a resident of the Bharathi Vruddhashram, Puttaparthi. She narrates her experiences of the Divinity of Bhagavan in her own words.

'I belong to Bukkapatnam and have known Swami since His boyhood days. My mother-in-law used to maintain a small shop where she used to prepare some eatables and sell them to school children. Swami used to take every day half-anna worth of eatables on credit and pay it off at the end of the week when his father gave him money. 'Raju', my mother-in-law used to urge him 'why, you can take a little more every day. Don't worry about payment.' But he never took more than half-anna worth. He used to say 'I will adjust in what my father gives me, and I do not take anything more'.

Once I had a fracture when I was injured in an accident. Though I got it bandaged well by competent doctors, it did not set well. I was afraid that I had to limp all my life, and prayed to Bhagavan. One night I had a dream in which Bhagavan appeared, and playfully pulled my leg literally. Next morning, I woke up to find, to my amazement, that my leg was set perfectly. There was neither pain nor limping. I could go to Badari and Kedar afterwards without any problem.

I remember one day, several decades ago, Swami taking us all to the Chitravati River. I think it was some Ekadasi day. There was a heavy crowd as the word spread that Swami was going to materialize Amrit. Swami asked the people there 'from where do you want me to take out Amrit?' Some said here, and some others there, etc. Later, Swami asked them to discuss among themselves and tell him the place. This Swami did, I think, to avoid giving scope to people to comment that He had put the container in the earth beforehand and made a show of taking it out as if He was producing it from nowhere. Finally when they told Him the place, He took out a small container. He materialized a small spoon also. He then gave Amrit from that small container to all the people that gathered there, with the spoon.'
